“Born to Innovate” Business Competition

On 26th of September, eight students of year 12 had an opportunity to participate in the Inter-School “Born to Innovate” Business Competition held at JSSIS. The aim was to come up with a new and innovative product, develop a feasible business plan, and promote the product to a panel of judges; in this case, two experienced and working businessmen.

Altogether, four teams participated. These teams came from Our Own Indian School, JSS Private School, JSS International School, and The Winchester School.

Our team began with a catchy and informative advertisement, followed by an introduction, explanation of design, and a business plan, in that order.

The students created what they called the “Triton”. This desalination and purification device guaranteed a large, yet cost-effective, supply of potable water for all kinds of regions across the world. Furthermore, the solar-powered energy source made it very sustainable and accessible for people of all incomes.

The presentation ended with a Q&A session with the judges and the audience, which also went very smoothly.

Needless to say, our team impressed the judges and finished as First Runners Up .

The main objectives of the event were:

To develop entrepreneurship skills in students

To provide students with a platform to showcase their innovations

To enable students to hone their team working and communication skills while developing a project

and we truly believe that these 8 students accomplished that in an outstanding way!
