Date:    13th November, 2016      Audience:  Year 12&13 Business  Students

Venue: Sixth Form Centre

Presenters / Conductors:  Students of Year 12 – Murtaza Abedin, Arnav Munshi & Abdul Kadir

Aims & Objectives:  To understand the real life working of a Stock Market and understand the significance of money management and investment.

Summary: The WIN ENTREPRENEURS Week flagged off with the Online Stock Simulator Game –Wolves of Wall Street. The event will continue throughout the week and the team with the highest capital gains and profits at the end of the week will win the competition.

Ten teams registered for the event and since the Stock Markets are closed on Sunday, today the teams were explained how the virtual game works. Most of the teams began purchases of the stock options which will be effective tomorrow once the stock market opens. Most of the stocks are those that are available on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and  Nasdaq. Each team started with $100,000 in virtual cash and put its trading skills to the test.

The session went very smoothly and proved interesting and engaging for all. It was an excellent stepping stone to understand the working of the real stock markets. This was the first time the students were experiencing a Stock Market Simulation Game at the Winchester school.

Student/Parent/Teacher Feedback:

The students were excited about finding out how their teams would fare once the stock markets opened tomorrow. Drawn by the palpable energy two other teams wanted to join the fray and register tomorrow.
