Yr 12 Economics students JAMMING it

The Year 12 Economics students spoke extemporaneously on current topics .The Class was split into groups of 4 and the students were given 5 minutes to prepare on the following topics:

■The pound sterling has lost its shine

■Going to the Moon is not a matter of Physics but Economics

■You don’t make the poor richer by making the rich poorer

■ There are no free lunches

■An economist is an expert who will know tomorrow why the things he predicted yesterday didn’t happen today.

■Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

The JAM Activity  was followed by a general class discussion on the significance of the topics . It provided an excellent opportunity to the students to brainstorm on topical issues.D452DB86-1CB2-4DF4-8107-FA9E8273359A-COLLAGE
