Title: Field Trip- Recruitment and Selection process in IKEA

Presenters / Conductors: Students of Year 13 BTEC Business

Aims & Objectives :
• To understand the processes involved in recruitment planning and the importance of ensuring effective utilization of Human Resources to work in IKEA.
• To demonstrate working as part of a team towards achieving specific goals.

Summary: To facilitate learning and enhance focus linked to real world contexts, our Year 13 BTEC Business students’ were taken on a Field Trip to the “IKEA” on Monday, 15th October 2018. Students had chosen IKEA and conducted their initial study. They designed questionnaires and successfully conducted their research at DFC. In the process, students conducted an interview with an IKEA employee, which helped them to understand the entire process of recruitment and selection across the various stores internationally. Students also conducted a role play in Starbucks to depict the launch of a new product line in’ Breakfast’ and ‘Grab & Go’ lunch category.

Student/Parent/Teacher Feedback: It was a great experience, we learned how to deal with customers and prepare questionnaires for the recruitment and selection process for the – MAHRA MOHAMMAD ALSHEHI (13 C)
In addition, in the future, if I want to get into the recruitment phase, this activity helped in understanding the basic functions of recruitments, which will shape my career in the future. – YOUSEFF
