Date: 26/03/2019 Audience: Year 12 BTEC Business Venue: Mall of the Emirates

Title: Field Trip – Educational basis

Presenters / Conductors: Students of Year 12 BTEC Business

Aims & Objective:
• To provide opportunity for the students to investigate different research methodologies used by various companies in the UAE market for various products.
• To enhance the entrepreneurship skills of students.
Summary: As we are focusing on providing opportunities for the students to link conceptual knowledge to real life scenarios, our Year 12 BTEC Business students were taken on a Field Trip to “Mall of the Emirates” on Tuesday, 26st March 2019.
The aim & objective of the field trip was to analyse the types of communications methods used by the organisations as well as promotional strategies used by two companies in UAE. Students had chosen their companies and did their initial research on secondary data available on websites etc. For collecting primary data on latest Promotional strategies and ways to communicate regarding the products to customers, they had to visit the stores of those companies (present in Mall of the Emirates). They interviewed and collected data from the Floor Managers & Sales Staff. Next step would be to analyse, interpret the data, and incorporate their findings in their assignment report.

Student/Parent/Teacher Feedback: It was a great experience. We understood how to deal with customers and prepare questionnaires. This experience will help us to analyse the different communication methods, analyze and interpret the primary data and finalize our assignment report. (Anna Sajji Year 12 BTEC)
