WIN –ENTREPRENEURS WEEK –STUDENT FEEDBACK & RESPONSES

  1. “This is one of the most exciting events I have ever taken part it in school. 14 teams are currently experiencing a simulation of the stock market, NYSE and NASDAQ. It gave us a real life picture of how the stock exchange works and how competitive and volatile stocks can be. Murtaza and Abdul have organized the event smoothly and have always been there for us when we have had any queries. We all started with $100,000 and some of us are struggling to even make profits!”

2 “Wolves of wall street is a virtual simulation of the New York stock exchange. We have been given the opportunity to have a live experience of how the stock market works. It has been an exciting learning experience for all of us so far and we have gained a lot of knowledge about real life skills and their application. This is probably my favorite event from Win entrepreneur’s week!”

3.”Win Entrepreneur’s week is a Business department-led week where several events have take place. ‘Wolves of wall street’ is a simulation of the stock exchange. It allows participants to take part in the daily activities of the stock market and make trades in teams of 3. Not only has this event allowed us to experience real-life situations, but has also tested our team work and communication skills. Overall it has been a very interesting and exciting event.”

2“There was an interesting event that took place this week. The green business challenge, where the business plans of 2 interesting products were analysed by a team of critics. The first team’s product was a solar panel powered desalination plant (triton), and the second team’s product was a solar powered heating installment (thermalator). It was a tight competition but the ‘thermalator’ took the winning position because of their detailed financial plans.

3 “Two teams battled it out in an exciting competition this week. ‘Energy’ themed products were presented by two teams, who presented for 15 minutes each. Each team presented their product, their marketing strategy, and their financial strategy. It was a neck-to-neck competition but in the end Calvin’s group, which presented the ‘thermalator’ took the winning position. Overall it was a very enjoyably educational experience.”

Adbuzz  Marketing Challenge

1.“Adbuzz was an exciting event that was held this week. 7 teams were given 15 minutes to prepare to market for an object they were given on the spot and 2-3 minutes to convince the audience and the judges to buy their product. It was an impromptu challenge that brought out the creative sides of the Yr 10 and yr11 students, as they were tested on thinking on their feet and their convincing powers. It was a very enjoyable event.”

2.The marketing challenge was a very exciting event that took place this week. Students were asked to think on the spot and this really allowed them to use their business and marketing skills in a real life situation. As an audience, it was very enjoyable to watch and see how each team picked a certain marketing strategy to convince the audience and how effective these techniques actually were.”
